More Corruption
Today it was reported that the FBI raided the homes of Rep. Curt Weldon's (R, PA-07) daughter and friend in association with an investigation of Weldon using his influence to obtain $1,000,000 in defense contracts. Weldon denies the claim and says that the investigations coming at this time are politically motivated.
Who could possibly be behind this politically motivated investigation? Let's see. The FBI is part of the US Justice Department headed up by Attorney General and former Counsel to the President, Alberto Gonzales. Hmmm?
Weldon took a strong stance in Congress against the conventional wisdom on pre 9/11 intelligence, taking up the case of 'Able Danger'. Could this be a payback from the White House? You know, like the Valerie Plame leak. If so, it would be a Pyrrhic victory. Weldon is in a tight race for reelection, behind his Democrat opponent by 8 points in the latest poll and this isn't going to help him.
